Services Offered

Oral cancer
Oral cancer, ranks in the top three of all cancers in India, which accounts for over 30 percent of all cancers reported in the country and is seen in 12.6 per 100,000 people. Most oral cancers require surgical removal with clearance of potential early sites of spread, which may or may not be followed by radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. We provide regular screening and early detection, diagnosis and surgical management of oral cancer followed by the 'state of art reconstruction with live tissue transfer from other areas of the body' to aid in better function and cosmesis.

Benign tumors of head and neck
Benign tumors and cysts of head and neck are non-cancerous lesions but can be aggressive and locally invasive and may have a potential to become cancerous. We at BMJH diagnose and treat the full spectrum of cysts and tumors in and around the jaws and structures of the teeth. This can involve many different tissues including- skin, muscle, bone, salivary glands, teeth, cheek, lips and gums. We provide various treatment options starting from 'removal to reconstruction followed by rehabilitation with dental and Maxillofacial implants' to improve the function and self-confidence of all our patients.

Vascular malformations of head and neck
Tumors involving the blood and lymph channels can predominantly occur in the head and neck and are seen in approximately 4.5% of children. These can present as red patches (hemangiomas) of the face and neck at birth or later in life as soft lumps involving various areas including critical structures like eyes, tongue, salivary glands and throat. These can present as low-flow and high-flow malformations. Due to a wide variety of different presentations, growth behavior and available treatments, which depend on the type of lesion, accurate diagnosis is of utmost importance. With help of high definition MRI scans and vascular studies, we work closely with our paediatric and interventional radiology colleagues to provide medical and surgical management of such diverse lesions with satisfying results.

Head and neck infections
Infections of face, mouth and neck can sometimes be serious and even life threatening. Sources of infection can include teeth, skin, salivary glands, foreign bodies and prior surgical wounds. It is crucial to have an early diagnosis and timely management of such infections. We provide round the clock inpatient and outpatient Maxillofacial services to such patients involving medical and surgical line of management.

Microvascular reconstruction of head and neck
Our team of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons treat a wide range of conditions that require reconstruction following cancer surgeries, benign tumor removals, traumatic injuries and congenital deformities, to give patients the best possible chance of normal speech and swallowing and ensure the best cosmetic results. In most complex cases we use 'CT planning and custom made models' in close coordination with our engineering colleagues to design and plan every detail of bone and soft tissue reconstructions. Over the years we have mastered the technique of performing microvascular free tissue transfers (implanting tissue from other areas of the body) which means we can deal with any defect requiring reconstruction, including areas such as tongue, floor of mouth, roof of mouth, upper and lower jaw, facial and neck skin with underlying soft tissues. We have about more than 500 successful live tissue transfers to our credit with an overall success rate of 96-98%.

Facelifts and browlifts
Forehead lifts, brow lifts, face and neck lifts are designed to restore natural contours of the face by lifting loose tissue back into place. These procedures can smooth out any disharmony and rejuvenate the face. With the surgical techniques available in reputable cosmetic surgery today, the emphasis is on achieving the most natural results as possible. Our team comprises of surgeons with over 30 yrs of experience in delivering satisfactory results to the young and old.

Face sculpting: cheek and lip augmentation
Facial fillers such as those for the lip, cheek and other face areas are non-surgical treatments used to help achieve a more youthful appearance by restoring or enhancing volume or fullness to the skin, face, cheeks and lips. They work by reducing or eliminating lines, wrinkles and folds in the skin and with effects being immediately visible after treatment. We use internationally approved materials keeping in mind safety and hygiene to give a beautiful smile to the young and old.

Nasal corrective or aesthetic surgeries-rhinoplasty
Cosmetic nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, can improve the appearance and proportion of your nose – enhancing facial harmony and self-confidence. Cosmetic nose surgery may also improve a breathing problem or correct abnormalities caused by trauma or a birth defect, and the procedure can change your nose’s overall outcome. We offer refined cosmetic nose surgery techniques, individualized to our patients that can positively transform the most defining characteristic of your face. Our expert consultants are highly experienced in their fields, and deliver excellent care and support for all of our patients.

Fractures of cheek bone, upper and lower jaws, forehead, skull and other facial bones
Facial injuries are one of the most commonly encountered due to road traffic accidents, sports related injuries, assaults and occupational injuries. India has acquired the dubious distinction of having the largest number of road traffic accidents in the world, with one death every 3.7 minutes due to head injuries. Facial bone fractures involving cheek bones, upper and lower jaws, nasal bones, bones around the eye, forehead and attached soft tissues has got a special attention as it may unstabilize the airway, create cosmetic and functional disability which could persist for a lifetime. Our team of Maxillofacial surgeons provides round the clock services to facial trauma victims and ensures they receive timely intervention and treatment. Our aim is to repair and restore the tissues back to its position aiding in form and function of the face and jaws back to near normal.

Dental injuries or suturing of facial wounds
Traumatic injuries to the dental structures (teeth) and soft tissues of face are invariably involved with facial injuries. The general prevalence of dental injury among pediatric patients is reported to be 5% of all facial fractures. Among adolescents with sport-related trauma, the incidence of dental injuries is reported to be 36%. Our overall goal of treatment of dentoalveolar fractures is to preserve the functional state of teeth, bone, and gingiva. Repair of soft tissues, including face, oral mucosa can be done with a good cosmetic or minimally visible scar.

Cmf trauma using cad-cam
Craniomaxillofacial trauma intervention using Computer aided designing and manufacturing (CAD- CAM) is one of advanced treatment modalities. It enables virtual preoperative surgical planning, helps in manufacturing the guides and models for intraoperative use. These cutting guides can be used to achieve precise position of fractured facial bones, based on the virtual plan giving the best treatment outcome.

Osteotomy For Correction Of Jaw Deformities
If your jaws don’t meet correctly and your teeth don’t seem to fit with your jaws, you may have a bite problem that makes eating difficult. Your face may appear 'off balance' and you may not be happy with the way you look. Also, your bones and teeth may have grown that way since childhood, or you may have injured your face. Whatever the reason, your teeth and jaws can be repositioned to create a more balanced appearance with jaws that work in harmony with the joints. Orthognathic surgery, more commonly known as corrective jaw surgery, is performed in order to reposition your jaws and associated attachments to a more acceptable position, aesthetically and functionally. Our team has pioneered the art of orthognathic surgery, using systematic planning using 3D models, radiographs, CT planning with virtual surgery and immense experience in treating such jaw deformities.

Surgery for sleep apnoea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a serious health condition characterized by repetitive stopping or slowing of breathing that can occur hundreds of times during the night. This often leads to poor quality sleep and excessive daytime sleepiness. It is estimated that 1 in 5 Indians have at least mild OSA. Our team at BMJH work in coordination with our pulmonology colleagues and provide surgical correction of OSA where indicated, mainly with jaw/chin repositioning surgery and reducing the size of large tongue. We also provide the service of custom made Mandibular repositioning devices as a non-invasive modality of early and mild cases.

Genioplasty also known as chin augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure that can recontour your chin and improve the appearance and achieve total facial harmony. This surgical procedure can be done either by augmenting the chin with an implant or repositioning the chin bone, or even reducing prominence or height of the chin. These procedures are scarless and performed through an incision inside the lower lip. This procedure can be performed in isolation or along with other facial corrective procedures to achieve a desirable facial proportion. We also receive several referrals locally and internationally, proving our efficiency and have a track of delivering more and more smiles.
