Welcome to Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital

History of the Trust

In 1975, to mark the 2500th Anniversary of LORD BHAGWAN MAHAVEER, a group of philanthropic persons from the Jain Community in Bangalore registered a Charitable Institution by the name of BHAGWAN MAHAVEER MEMORIAL JAIN TRUST with the object of helping the poor and the needy.

The main object was to provide medical facilities at a very affordable cost. However, no compromise is ever made in the quality of healthcare provided.

The basic aim is to provide assistance to all men, women, children, and persons belonging to all caste and creed. With this aim in view, the foundation stone of BHAGWAN MAHAVEER JAIN HOSPITAL was laid on 23rd May 1976 by His Excellency Late Sri Mohanlal Sukhadia, the then Governor of Andhra Pradesh in the august presence of His Excellency late Sri Uma Shankar Dixit, the then Governor of Karnataka..

The Hospital was inaugurated on 9th April 1990 by Sri Veerendra Patil, the then Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka. It has grown to a reputed and big hospital with over 200 beds with all modern facilities.

Medical Director's Message

From very humble beginnings twenty-five years ago, Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital (BMJH) has grown to become one of the leading super-speciality tertiary referral hospitals in the city of Bengaluru. The Hospital functions under the aegis of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Memorial Jain Trust, established by eminent and philanthropic members of the Marwari Jain Community of the City. The core strength of this hospital lies in its dedicated, caring and compassionate consultants, doctors, nurses and employees. These, combined with excellent infrastructure, have resulted in the Hospital crafting a niche for itself as a reputed and ethical healthcare destination for all sections of society, regardless of economic or cultural backgrounds.

sections of society, regardless of economic or cultural backgrounds. With a view to expand the quantum and scope of healthcare delivery, in 2008, the Trust decided to increase the capacity of the Hospital with the establishment of a new block, at the existing Vasanthnagar facility, which would house an additional 280 beds. These would be high-end beds, the revenue from which would help cross-subsidize the economy beds, thereby offering world-class healthcare to all sections of society.

Technologies in the healthcare sector are rapidly changing with each day, bringing forth new modalities for providing better healthcare. In this dynamic milieu, we pursue our mission of “Caring with Compassion,” combined with ethical practices and professionalism, to provide excellence in healthcare services by constant improvements and innovations in our approach to our patients.

The Hospital has a full range of all basic specialties and super-specialities. These include a handful of flagship specialities, which offer advanced and very high-end treatment modalities, not ordinarily available elsewhere in the State of Karnataka. The Trust spares no efforts in providing us with the very best of equipment, infrastructure and environment to enable us to put in our best.

A service institution like a hospital needs to sharply focus on its clientele in order to progress and establish itself as a preferred healthcare destination. In this regard, we cherish our association with our patients and envisage our journey ahead to be punctuated with milestones of mutual trust, co-operation, and an urge to excel in all our endeavors. The release of this publication heralds a new dimension in showcasing the Hospital to our esteemed clientele, the institutions that we are associated with, and the Trust, all of whom have always encouraged us to continually raise the bar in attaining professional excellence in the process of ethical healthcare delivery.

Let me walk you through the pages ahead, which have been carefully put together, to give you a lasting impression of this honest, ethical and dedicated healthcare establishment, so difficult to come across in our modern days.
God speed and God bless………
